Jake Allen Takes On Toronto In Season Opener
3 years agoMontreal Canadiens goaltender Jake Allen will take on the Toronto Maple Leafs in the team's season opener on Wednesday. This will be the first of many starts for the 31-year-old early in the season, as Carey Price (personal) is currently away from the team. Allen had a pretty solid debut season for Montreal in 2020-21, posting an 11-12-5 record with a 2.68 goals-against average and a .907 save percentage. He faces a Toronto team that's without Auston Matthews (wrist) and could also be missing Mitchell Marner (undisclosed), so Allen finds himself in a decent spot to start the season with a victory.
