Los Angeles Angels starter Jaime Barria will take the mound Friday against a potent Red Sox lineup. Barria carries a 5.57 ERA over his last seven appearances and has really struggled at times this season. Barria does have a 4.08 ERA when he starts a game, compared a 10.00 ERA when he comes out of the bullpen. The right-hander is allowing opponents to hit .289 against him, making Boston's offensive players a better fantasy option than Barria for Friday.--Joey C - RotoBaller

Los Angeles Angels pitcher Jaime Barria has refused his outright assignment to Triple-A Salt Lake. Now, the 27-year-old will take his chances on the open market this winter. The right-hander has normally been a viable option for the Halos, but struggled during the 2023 campaign. He registered a 5.68 ERA, 1.47 WHIP, and 62/30 K/BB ratio across 34 games (six starts) with the Angels this season. Before that, Barria posted a 2.61 ERA with the Halos last season. His versatility should help him draw interest on the open market, so he should be able to at least get a minor league deal.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller

Los Angeles Angels pitcher Jaime Barria has had his scheduled start on Tuesday against the Los Angeles Dodgers skipped. This is all designed to make Barria available out of the bullpen for Sunday's contest against the Royals and it gives Reid Detmers the start on Tuesday vs. the Dodgers. Barria has been a solid arm for the Angels this year, compiling a 2.28 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, and 39:13 K/BB ratio over 43 1/3 innings (15 appearances, four starts).--Jon Mathisen - RotoBaller

Los Angeles Angels pitcher Jaime Barria has been named the starter for Monday's game against the Boston Red Sox. Manager Phil Nevin has decided to go with Barria over Chase Silseth who was originally scheduled to start. Now, Silseth will return to his high-leverage role out of the bullpen. Barria has been terrific out of the bullpen this season. He's currently holding a 1.96 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and a 21/6 K/BB ratio over 23 innings. It's worth noting that he hasn't thrown more than 58 pitches in a start this season. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect him to go deep into this game.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
