1 year agoLos Angeles Angels pitcher Jaime Barria has refused his outright assignment to Triple-A Salt Lake. Now, the 27-year-old will take his chances on the open market this winter. The right-hander has normally been a viable option for the Halos, but struggled during the 2023 campaign. He registered a 5.68 ERA, 1.47 WHIP, and 62/30 K/BB ratio across 34 games (six starts) with the Angels this season. Before that, Barria posted a 2.61 ERA with the Halos last season. His versatility should help him draw interest on the open market, so he should be able to at least get a minor league deal.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
