Jaime Barria Doesn't Make It Past The Third
Jaime Barria (2-1) didn't pitch well against the Houston Astros on Saturday, only pitching three innings. He gave up three runs on seven hits, struck out one, and also walked a batter. It ended his streak of three quality starts in a row since returning to the Angels rotation in late July. On the year, he has a 4.71 ERA, 14 K, and 11 BB in 28.2 IP. He should remain in the rotation even after this start, as he's posted a 3.18 ERA in his last four starts. Barria doesn't offer much in terms of strikeouts but can be a good streaming option against weaker offenses.

Jaime Barria Heads To Free Agency
Jaime Barria has refused his outright assignment to Triple-A Salt Lake. Now, the 27-year-old will take his chances on the open market this winter. The right-hander has normally been a viable option for the Halos, but struggled during the 2023 campaign. He registered a 5.68 ERA, 1.47 WHIP, and 62/30 K/BB ratio across 34 games (six starts) with the Angels this season. Before that, Barria posted a 2.61 ERA with the Halos last season. His versatility should help him draw interest on the open market, so he should be able to at least get a minor league deal.

Jaime Barria Has Start Skipped
Jaime Barria has had his scheduled start on Tuesday against the Los Angeles Dodgers skipped. This is all designed to make Barria available out of the bullpen for Sunday's contest against the Royals and it gives Reid Detmers the start on Tuesday vs. the Dodgers. Barria has been a solid arm for the Angels this year, compiling a 2.28 ERA, 1.06 WHIP, and 39:13 K/BB ratio over 43 1/3 innings (15 appearances, four starts).

Jaime Barria Named Monday's Starter
Jaime Barria has been named the starter for Monday's game against the Boston Red Sox. Manager Phil Nevin has decided to go with Barria over Chase Silseth who was originally scheduled to start. Now, Silseth will return to his high-leverage role out of the bullpen. Barria has been terrific out of the bullpen this season. He's currently holding a 1.96 ERA, 0.96 WHIP and a 21/6 K/BB ratio over 23 innings. It's worth noting that he hasn't thrown more than 58 pitches in a start this season. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect him to go deep into this game.
