Jaguars Bolster Tight End Depth With Brenton Strange
2 years agoThe Jacksonville Jaguars selected tight end Brenton Strange out of Penn State with the No. 61 overall pick in the second round of the 2023 NFL draft on Friday night. At six-foot-four, 253 pounds, he's a big-bodied target for Trevor Lawrence. He'll join Evan Engram, who was very productive during the final stretch of the 2022 season. Lawrence already has Calvin Ridley, Christian Kirk, and Zay Jones to throw to, making Strange more of a depth piece. It'll be difficult for him to earn a significant role this season, but with Engram on a one-year deal, he could emerge as the starter for 2024.
