Jacoby Ellsbury Unlikely To Be Ready For Season Opener
7 years agoStill dealing with an oblique injury, there was some bad news and good news Monday for New York Yankees outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury. While positive news emerged Monday that he could see action in exhibition games soon, it may not be enough for Ellsbury to be deemed fit in time for Opening Day. The 34-year-old, who will be a bench outfielder for the club this season, has a continued history of injuries as he approaches his late-30s. Manager Aaron Boone said Sunday that time is running out for Ellsbury's chances of being ready when the Yankees take the field in Toronto against the Blue Jays in two weeks.
