Jacoby Ellsbury Remaining In Tampa For Season Prep
7 years agoVeteran outfielder Jacoby Ellsbury will begin the 2018 season on the Disabled List, remaining in Tampa as the New York Yankees fly north of the border for the season opener in Toronto. The 34-year-old tried to get back in time for the season, now just days away, but he couldn’t do it. Ellsbury has been out the past three weeks with an oblique injury. General Manager Brian Cashman announced that he would stay back and get 40 to 50 at-bats before any steps are taken to bring him back the DL. At the moment, the Yankees have four outfielder in Aaron Hicks, Brett Gardner, Aaron Judge and Giancarlo Stanton.
