Jacob Wilson Off To Hot Start In High-A
1 year agoOakland Athletics infield prospect Jacob Wilson is making a strong first impression in the minors. Through 11 games with High-A Lansing, the 21-year-old sports impressive .342/.409/.474 slash line. He was the sixth overall pick in the draft last month, widely considered one of the best pure hitters in his class. Wilson's power and speed are closer to average, but his contact metrics are incredible, posting a 4.4% strikeout rate across his college career. It remains to be seen whether Wilson sticks at shortstop or moves to third base defensively, but in any event, he should ascend to the majors quickly.
