Jacob Wilson Getting A Breather Against White Sox
2 days agoAthletics shortstop Jacob Wilson is not in the team's starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Chicago White Sox in Chicago. Rookie Max Muncy will take his place at shortstop and will hit ninth against White Sox right-hander Jonathan Cannon. This will be Wilson's first day off of the 2025 season. The 23-year-old prospect and former sixth overall pick in 2023 out of Grand Canyon University has lived up to expectations so far this and entered Wednesday's action slashing .333/.333/.485 with an .818 OPS, two homers, eight RBI and 11 runs scored for fantasy managers. Expect him to be back in the lineup for Thursday's series finale against the White Sox. Muncy, another first-rounder, has been a bit overmatched at the plate in his first 16 MLB games, going 10-for-54 (.185) with a homer, four doubles, four RBI, on walk and 16 strikeouts. He should be avoided as a DFS play in the nine-hole.
