1 year agoGrand Canyon University shortstop Jacob Wilson was selected by the Oakland Athletics with the sixth pick in the 2023 MLB draft. Wilson is the son of former MLB shortstop Jack Wilson. He is widely considered to have the best eye and contact skills at the draft, and like his father, he's an elite defender at shortstop. Over his college career, he hit .361 with a 61/31 BB/K ratio over 697 plate appearances. His 2023 stats were incredible, with a .412/.461/.635 line and an insane 19/5 BB/K rate.--Benjamin Chase
