Jacob Webb Gets Out Of Jam For First Save
1 year agoLos Angeles Angels reliever Jacob Webb notched his first save of the season Thursday, securing a 5-3 win over the Texas Rangers. Webb came into a doozy of a situation, as closer Carlos Estevez allowed three walks before being pulled. Webb did walk a batter, but he pitched well enough to get out of it. The 29-year-old has pitched well this year, as shown by his 2.03 ERA and 0.90 WHIP. That said, it is unlikely he will see many more save chances and this was a special situation. Estevez has been rock-solid for almost the entire season, plus they have other options that they'd probably go to before Webb.
