Jacob Trouba Signs Seven-Year Deal With Rangers
6 years agoThe New York Rangers and restricted free-agent defenseman Jacob Trouba agreed to a seven-year contract with an Average Annual Value (AAV) of $8 million on Friday. He was expected to have an arbitration hearing next Thursday. Trouba is expected to be the team's new No. 1 rearguard, and they paid dearly for him. He registered eight goals while posting a career high 50 points with a plus-8 rating and 18 power-play points during the 2018-19 season with the Winnipeg Jets across 82 games. He is still just 25 years old, and worth a look early on draft day in most fantasy leagues since his upward trajectory is expected to continue.

Jacob Trouba Could Be An Option Sunday
6 days agoAnaheim Ducks defenseman Jacob Trouba (undisclosed) could remain in the lineup for Sunday's contest against the Toronto Maple Leafs. He was hurt in Friday's win over the New York Rangers and did not practice on Saturday. However, a team source has told Derek Lee of The Hockey News that Trouba is "in consideration to play" against Toronto. Since arriving from the Rangers, Trouba has registered eight points (one goal, seven assists) in 47 games with the Ducks. He has also racked up 124 blocks and 117 hits. If Trouba cannot play, Oliver Kylington is expected to come into the lineup on the second defensive pairing.

Jacob Trouba Traded To Ducks
4 months agoThe Anaheim Ducks have acquired defenseman Jacob Trouba from the New York Rangers. Defenseman Urho Vaakanainen (upper body) and a conditional 2025 fourth-round pick went in the other direction. The trade was agreed only a couple of hours after the Rangers planned to keep their captain out of Friday's contest against Pittsburgh for "roster management purposes." It was speculated that the club might waive him. Anaheim took on Trouba's entire contract, which carries an $8 million average annual value through the 2025-26 season. Trouba has had a couple of tough campaigns in New York, but he now gets a fresh start and can prove his worth again. The 30-year-old has registered three assists, 46 shots, 68 blocks, and 39 hits across 24 appearances this season.

Jacob Trouba Unmoved By Trade Speculation
8 months agoNew York Rangers defenseman Jacob Trouba hasn't been bothered by trade speculation that surrounded him earlier in the summer and is ready to head to battle with the team once again next season. "It's part of the business," Trouba told Peter Baugh of The Athletic. "I knew that part of my contract turned this year (to a no-trade list), and I submitted a list. That's what I did. All the other noise was pretty much noise." Trouba has two more seasons left on a large seven-year, $56 million contract. The Rangers captain struggled to be effective in 2023-24, going minus-four across 69 appearances. He averaged the second-fewest points in his career, with three goals and 19 assists. However, Trouba continued to deliver fantasy managers a good chunk of peripheral stats, finishing the campaign with 183 blocks and 191 hits.

Jacob Trouba Escapes Suspension For Elbowing
10 months agoNew York Rangers defenseman Jacob Trouba has avoided suspension for elbowing Florida forward Evan Rodrigues during Game 3 of the Eastern Conference Final on Sunday. He received a $5,000 fine for the incident, the maximum allowable under the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Game 3 was a very busy day at the office for Trouba in general. He tallied two assists in the contest and blocked a game-high nine shots while amassing one shot on goal, two hits, and six penalty minutes with a minus-one rating. The hard-hitting blue-liner boasts seven points (one goal, six assists) through 13 postseason appearances and has recorded 63 blocks with 49 hits.
