Jacob Melton Assigned To Minor-League Camp
42 seconds agoHouston Astros outfield prospect Jacob Melton was assigned to minor-league camp. Melton is considered one of the top bats in the Houston system and was approaching his MLB debut. Last season, the former second-round selection received his first extended look at Double-A and even made his Triple-A debut. Across 58 games at Double-A, Melton posted a .248/.406./442 slash line with 10 doubles, 10 home runs, and 19 stolen bases. In his first 47 games with Triple-A Sugar Land, the Oregon State product posted a .260/.314/.405 slash line with 10 doubles, five home runs, and 11 stolen bases. Fantasy managers should monitor his development at the beginning of the season as he could push for an early 2025 MLB debut as he has already received a look at Triple-A. Given Houston's lack of outfield depth, he could receive a promotion early in the 2025 season.
