Jacob Markstrom On Short End Of Narrow Road Loss
6 years agoVancouver Canucks goaltender Jacob Markstrom allowed just two goals on 30 shots in Monday's 2-1 road loss against the Philadelphia Flyers. Markstrom received just one goal of support, a marker from right wing Brock Boeser early in the second period, and that was all the Vancouver offense could muster in front of him. Markstrom's counterpart, Carter Hart, was on point with 41 saves on 42 shots. The Canucks are back in action on Tuesday night in Washington, and Markstrom might get the start again. Backup Thatcher Demko suffered an injury in pre-game warmups prompting the team to recall Michael DiPietro from Ottawa of the Ontario Hockey League as an emergency backup.
