Jacob deGrom's First Bullpen Session Coming Soon
6 months agoTexas Rangers right-hander Jacob deGrom (elbow) resumed throwing on Wednesday after a scheduled rest period and will throw his first bullpen session on the team's next homestand, which begins on Monday, June 17, against the New York Mets. deGrom is still in the process of recovery from his second Tommy John surgery and has been out all year, but he's making progress and is set for a big step soon. Still, the 35-year-old veteran has a long ways to go before he'll be a realistic candidate to rejoin Texas' starting rotation in the second half of the season sometime in August. The upside from the four-time All-Star is obvious, but deGrom hasn't been able to make more than 15 starts in a season since 2019 with the New York Mets, and he won't have much time to contribute in fantasy once he returns later this year.
