Jacob deGrom Expects To Make Two More Starts This Season
4 years agoNew York Mets starting pitcher Jacob deGrom (hamstring) left his start on Wednesday after only two innings pitched with a right hamstring spasm. deGrom considers the injury minor and still expects to make two more starts this season. deGrom said he first began experiencing the hamstring spasm/discomfort before his prior start against the Blue Jays, but he ignored it and the issue went away. On Wednesday, however, deGrom could no longer overlook the discomfort and he had to be removed from the game. Of course, the Mets have to confirm that deGrom's injury will not preclude his next scheduled start. Accordingly, deGrom will most likely go for an MRI to determine the presence and/or severity of any strain. If the MRI comes back clean, the Mets' training staff will need to determine whether deGrom's expectations going forward are accurate. Fantasy managers should wait for additional information regarding this issue before making any roster decisions.
