Jackson Holliday Selected First Overall In 2022 MLB Draft
2 years agoThe Baltimore Orioles selected shortstop Jackson Holliday out of Stillwater High School in Stillwater, Oklahoma, with the first overall pick in the 2022 MLB draft. The 18-year-old was named the Gatorade Oklahoma prep player of the year last year after putting together a ridiculous .685/.749/1.392 slash line as a senior. He broke J.T. Realmuto's national record for hits in a single high school season with 89. The son of longtime MLB star Matt Holliday is committed to Oklahoma State, where he will play under his uncle, Josh Holliday, assuming he doesn't forgo college to enter the minors.
