Jackson Chourio To Start At Triple-A Next Year
1 year agoMilwaukee Brewers outfield prospect Jackson Chourio will start next season back at Triple-A Nashville. "It's hard to put a timetable on it for a 19-year-old,"general manager Matt Arnold said, "but he has a chance to be really special." Chourio is the team's top prospect and is listed as the No. 2 overall prospect in all of baseball by MLB Pipeline. He has a bright future at the next level, but Milwaukee doesn't need to rush him with Christian Yelich, Sal Frelick, Garrett Mitchell, Joey Wiemer and Tyrone Taylor already at the major-league level. Chourio spent most of his time in 2023 with Double-A Biloxi, hitting .280/.336/.467 with an .803 OPS, 22 home runs, 89 RBI, 43 stolen bases and 84 runs scored in 122 games. His speed is his greatest asset, but he makes consistent, loud contact at the plate to all parts of the field as well.
