Jack Suwinski Recalled And Starting Tuesday
6 months agoThe Pittsburgh Pirates recalled outfielder Jack Suwinski from Triple-A Indianapolis on Tuesday and placed outfielder Ji Hwan Bae (wrist) on the 10-day injured list with a sprained right wrist in a corresponding move. The team also added Liover Peguero to the active roster and placed outfielder Michael Taylor on the paternity list. Suwinski is starting in center field and batting ninth on Tuesday against Los Angeles Dodgers right-hander Tyler Glasnow. In 29 plate appearances for Indy, the 25-year-old Suwinski hit .250 with a homer and will now get another shot to prove he deserves playing time in center field against right-handers in the big leagues with both Bae and Taylor not with the team. Suwinski hit just .224 last year but did manager an impressive 26 home runs, 74 RBI and 13 stolen bases for the Bucs.
