2 years agoTexas Rangers pitching prospect Jack Leiter threw six scoreless innings with seven strikeouts in a start for Double-A Frisco. The 24-year-old has struggled to start the season with a 5.19 ERA and 1.62 WHIP in his first six starts. This season continues the struggles from his 2022 season when he had a 5.54 ERA and 1.55 WHIP in 22 starts. Leiter must consistently repeat Friday's performance before he progresses past Double-A. The Vanderbilt product has struggled as a minor leaguer, but his college experience will allow him to reach the majors soon if he manages to put it all together.
