Jack Flaherty Flirts With a No-Hitter on Sunday
5 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Jack Flaherty had a no-hitter through six innings on Sunday but ultimately ended up tossing seven innings and allowing one run on two hits and a walk while striking out six. Flaherty served up a solo home run to Evan Longoria in the seventh inning and the next hitter rocked a single. Flaherty was able to finish out the inning though, and he'll take a 4.64 ERA into the All-Star Break despite the tough loss to close out the half. He's been a little inconsistent, but he's shown signs of having plenty of upside in the first half.
