Jack Flaherty Flashes His Upside on Tuesday
7 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals rookie starting pitcher Jack Flaherty showed his upside on Tuesday night, tossing five innings while allowing just one run on six hits and a walk and striking out nine. Flaherty was supposed to be holding Adam Wainwright's spot in the rotation only until Wainwright came back from a hamstring injury, but with the veteran looking like he's ready for his next turn and the rookie showing what he can do, Flaherty has made the decision much harder on the Cardinals. The rookie will have a rematch against the Brewers in his next start if he is allowed to remain in the rotation.
