Jack Flaherty Dominates in His First Triple-A Start of the Season
7 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals starting pitcher Jack Flaherty dominated in his first start at Triple-A Memphis, pitching seven innings while allowing just one run and striking out 11. Flaherty was also dominant in his first major league start of the season, but was optioned to Triple-A to make room for the ghost of Adam Wainwright in the starting rotation. Flaherty is an excellent prospect who has proven he can get big league hitters out, but there's simply no room for him in the Cardinals starting rotation at this point. He'll be in the big leagues as soon as anyone gets hurt or struggles, so he is worth holding onto in deeper leagues or in any league with a minor league spot.
