6 years agoBuffalo Sabres center Jack Eichel picked up a pair of assists with a plus-1 rating, two blocked shots and a hit in Tuesday's 3-1 victory against the New York Islanders. Left wing Jeff Skinner picked up his 34th goal of the season, putting him just three short of a new career high. He scored 37 goals back in 2016-17 with the Carolina Hurricanes. As far as Eichel, he is working on a six-game point streak, posting two goals and eight points with three power-play assists during the span. However, he also has an ugly minus-5 rating. The Sabres will look to carry over the momentum from their win into Friday's home battle with the New York Rangers.--Daniel Dobish
