Buffalo Sabres center Jack Eichel returned to the lineup on Saturday following a one-game absence and picked up where he left off, recording an assist in a 3-2 win over the Kings. Sadly, the NHL doesn’t recognize point streaks interrupted by injury, so Eichel missed a chance to tie Gilbert Perreault for the longest point streak in franchise history, but he does now boast a personal 18-game point streak. The Sabres captain extended it on a Victor Olofsson empty-net goal. Rasmus Ristolainen and Marco Scandella also scored for the Sabres, Sam Reinhart registered two assists. The team now heads to Ottawa to meet up with the poor Senators squad, so the stage is nicely set for Eichel to improve his streak even further. He scored four goals in the previous meeting against them on Nov. 16.--Taavi Pailk - RotoBaller
