Jack Doyle Announces His Retirement
3 years agoIndianapolis Colts tight end Jack Doyle announced his retirement in a statement on Monday. Doyle was considering retirement at the conclusion of the 2021 season, so this shouldn't come as a huge surprise. The 31-year-old was due to make $5.45 million this year if he continued to play. Doyle had 29 catches for 302 yards and three touchdowns while sharing snaps at the position with both Mo Alie-Cox and rookie Kylen Granson last year. The two-time Pro Bowler will finish his nine-year career with a total of 295 receptions on 407 targets for 2,729 receiving yards and 24 touchdowns in 131 games, all with the Colts. Alie-Cox is set to be a free agent in 2022, so Granson could have a substantial role as the pass-catching tight end if Alie-Cox goes elsewhere.
