Jace Jung Extends On-Base Streak To 22 Games
1 year agoDetroit Tigers prospect Jace Jung launched his 14th home run of the season on Sunday, extending his on-base streak to 22 games in the process. The 22-year-old is now slashing .254/.377/.465 through 81 games with High-A West Michigan. Jung is the second-ranked prospect in Detroit's farm system and the No. 58 prospect in baseball, per MLB Pipeline. A below-average defender at second base, Jung may be asked to transition to a different position at some point down the road. Regardless, he can hit for both power and average, complementing his 55-grade hit tool with a 55-grade power rating, so Jung will get playing time as long as his offense continues to develop. There's nothing actionable for fantasy managers yet, with Jung at least a season or two away from a major-league debut.
