Ja Morant Gets Close To A New Career High In Points
3 years agoMemphis Grizzlies point guard Ja Morant had a special night at the Staples Center on Sunday, finishing a 121-118 loss to the Lakers with 40 points on 13-for-21 shooting. He went 5-for-7 from downtown and 9-for-11 at the line, ending up just five points shorts of a new personal scoring record. Morant's final free-throw attempt was a painful one, as he had a chance to tie the game with just a couple of ticks left in regulation and couldn't do it. The 2020 Rookie of the Year posted his first double-double of the season by giving out 10 assists, and he picked up three rebounds with three steals and six turnovers in 38 minutes. Morant has looked superb early in the season, and he gets a nice matchup to keep up the form on Wednesday with a visit to Portland.
