J.T. Realmuto Scratched From Lineup Sunday
4 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto (thumb) was scratched from his scheduled debut on Sunday. Realmuto was set to make his Grapefruit League debut as the designated hitter against the Tigers, though the team held him out because of some "general soreness" in his body. It doesn't appear to be a major setback, though it's still not the most encouraging news, given that Opening Day is coming ever closer and Realmuto has yet to see any game action to this point because of a fractured thumb. The consensus top catcher in fantasy baseball is still in line to start on Opening Day, though it remains to be seen how ready he'll truly be with so little time to build up.
