J.T. Realmuto Back In Action Wednesday Afternoon
1 year agoPhiladelphia Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto is back in the starting lineup Wednesday afternoon against the San Diego Padres and right-hander Michael Wacha. Realmuto got a routine breather in Tuesday's 8-0 loss at the hands of the Friars but will return behind the plate and hit sixth on Wednesday. While it's been a down season overall for the veteran due to a slow start, Realmuto has been productive when it matters most, hitting .267 with an .812 OPS, .346 wOBA, and 117 wRC+ in the season's second half. This includes a .357 average with two homers and a stolen base in just 16 plate appearances in the month of September. However, he has a tough matchup on his hands Wednesday against Wacha and his tidy 2.85 ERA across 19 starts on the season.
