J.T. Realmuto: A star catcher on the downswing
2 days agoAfter an injury-riddled 2024 campaign, Phillies catcher J.T. Realmuto is hoping for a bounce-back year at the plate. In 99 games, he produced only 14 home runs, 47 RBI, and a .751 OPS, striking out 102 times in 413 plate appearances. Since 2022, when he hit 22 homers and drove in 84 runs, the veteran catcher has been on a steady offensive decline and has begun showing his age. If the club can alleviate some of his workload, Realmuto could be a top catcher in the sport again. Steamer projects him to slash .246/.309.416 with a .314 wOBA and 100 wRC+ in his age-34 season and an NFC ADP of 132.06.
