J.T. Miller Signs Long-Term In Vancouver
2 years agoCenter/left winger J.T. Miller has agreed to a seven-year, $56 million extension with the Vancouver Canucks that carries an average annual value of $8 million. The deal will start at the beginning of next season and will take him through his age 37 season in 2029-30. After all the talk of Miller getting traded this past season that lasted through the summer, the two sides ended up getting a deal done that keeps Miller with the Canucks long-term. After a decent start to his career, the versatile forward took off once traded to Vancouver, posting 217 points in 202 games in his first three years. Last season, he was just one point shy of the century mark, posting 99 points (32 goals). It is tough to say how the deployment will line up in Vancouver this year, but Miller will certainly be a big part of the top six and see adequate powerplay time as well. He should be drafted confidently in the late-second/early-third round in standard 12-team leagues.
