12 months agoThe Detroit Red Wings have placed forward J.T. Compher (soreness) on Injured Reserve, retroactive to Dec. 5. Compher has missed the team's last two games, so he is eligible to return from IR on Dec. 14 against Carolina. The 28-year-old has been rock-solid for his new team, posting 19 points (six goals, 13 assists) in 24 games for a career-high pace. If he can get healthy, he has a pretty good shot at reaching the 50-point plateau for the second time in his career. Compher is a strong option in deeper fantasy leagues or leagues that value faceoff wins. With Dylan Larkin also going on IR, the Wings will be extremely short down the middle. Andrew Copp and Joe Veleno are currently penciled in as the top two options.--Matt Garon - RotoBaller
