J.P. Crawford The Only Bright Spot For Phillies
6 years agoWith Philadelphia Phillies infielder Asdrubal Cabrera starting at third and Scott Kingery having the night off, shortstop J.P. Crawford enjoyed a rare start at shortstop. Batting seventh, the 23-year-old led the club with three hits, including a fifth-inning home run that accounted for Philadelphia's lone run of the game. It was the first three-hit game of Crawford's career and his first multi-hit game since June. Perhaps now as the club's playoff chances reach their limits, the club will seek to give Crawford more starts with a look towards the future. That would clearly make more sense than continuing to start the veteran Cabrera.
