J.P. Crawford Busts Slump With Pair Of Hits
5 years agoSeattle Mariners shortstop J.P. Crawford went 2-for-4 in Monday’s win over the Texas Rangers after struggling mightily at the plate recently. Coming into this contest, he was hitting an abysmal .102 in July with no homers and just three doubles and six RBI. The 24-year-old was showing some offensive prowess before this slump, but is now looking more like the failed prospect in the Phillies organization than a post-hype breakout candidate. Crawford is still young enough to turn his career around but isn’t a safe bet to produce for fantasy teams, although the M’s haven't backed down from batting him second in the lineup. He carries a .257 average with four homers, 22 runs, 29 RBI, and two thefts as the club continues their homestand through to the end of the weekend.
