J.J. Wetherholt Tallies Three Hits On Wednesday
1 week agoSt. Louis Cardinals infield prospect J.J. Wetherholt enjoyed a breakout game at Double-A on Wednesday evening. In this contest, Wetherholt went 3-for-5 with three RBI. He tallied one double. This was a much-needed breakout game for Wetherholt as he went 0-for-17 with a 1:4 BB:K through his first four games of the regular season. The Cardinals drafted Wetherholt with the seventh overall pick in last year's MLB Draft out of West Virginia. The 22-year-old received a brief look at Low-A following the draft. Across 29 games, he looked quite comfortable, posting a .295/.405/.400 slash line with a 16:15 BB:K. He swiped two bags and hit five doubles and two round-trippers. Fantasy managers should expect Wetherholt to spend most of the campaign with Double-A and push for a 2026 MLB debut.
