J.D. Martinez Reportedly Available In Trade Market
2 years agoThe Boston Red Sox have dropped four of five games since the All-Star break and are currently sitting in last place in the AL East at 49-49. With each loss, it's looking more and more likely that the team could be a seller at the trade deadline. On his Baseball Tonight podcast on Tuesday, Buster Olney stated that Red Sox outfielder J.D. Martinez "is out in the trade market." The 34-year-old is set to be an unrestricted free agent after this year, so it would certainly make sense for the club to move him if they weren't feeling confident in their playoff chances. Martinez is hitting .299/.367/.477 with nine home runs, 30 doubles, 38 RBI and 51 runs on the year.
