J.D. Martinez Out On Friday With Back Tightness
6 years agoBoston Red Sox superstar J.D. Martinez (back) will not be in the lineup on Friday when the Red Sox take on the Chicago White Sox. Martinez left Thursday's game in the eighth inning due to back tightness and it is bothersome enough to keep him out again. Brock Holt will start in the outfield. This is unfortunate for fantasy owners, as Martinez has been downright amazing this season. He is near the top of every major offensive statistical category. He has a .314 average to go along with 20 home runs and 52 RBI. The injury is believed to be minor, so the hope is that Martinez will be able to play Saturday. He is one of the most fearsome bats in the league and will be a consistent offensive producer for the rest of the season.
