6 years agoBoston Red Sox outfielder J.D. Martinez (back) is absent from Sunday's lineup as the team faces Tyler Glasnow and the Tampa Bay Rays. Martinez also missed Saturday's contest after being scratched due to back spasms. In his absence, Steve Pearce will serve as the designated hitter and bat seventh. Pearce, the World Series MVP from last postseason, has had a dismal start to 2019. He owns a .114 average with a single RBI and 16 strikeouts through 35 at-bats. Avoid Pearce in all formats against Glasnow's stellar 1.53 ERA, although, he could be a valuable pickup if Martinez is forced to miss considerable time.--Raymond Harrison - RotoBaller
