J.D. Martinez Not A Lock To Play In Game 3
6 years agoBoston Red Sox manager Alex Cora said "we'll see" when asked if outfielder/designated hitter J.D. Martinez's (ankle) injury is healthy enough for him to play in the outfield for Game 3 of the World Series with it shifting to Los Angeles. Martinez apparently aggravated his nagging ankle injury running the bases in Game 2 on Wednesday, so he might not be comfortable playing the outfield with no DH available in the National League park. He's picked up where he left off in the regular season this postseason, hitting .333/.429/.538 with two home runs, 13 RBI, eight walks and five runs scored in 11 games. We'd be pretty surprised if he's not in the lineup in right field on Friday.
