J.D. Martinez In Lineup In Game 3, Andrew Benintendi Out
6 years agoBoston Red Sox outfielder J.D. Martinez (ankle), who aggravated his ankle in Game 2 of the World Series, is starting in left field and batting third against Dodgers starter Walker Buehler in Game 3 of the World Series on Friday. As a result, Andrew Benintendi will start on the bench. Infielder Brock Holt is also starting at second base and hitting fifth over Ian Kinsler. The move to the National League park without the designated hitter definitely weakens Boston's firepower a bit with Benintendi out. Martinez continues to rake in the postseason and has shown no signs of slowing down. Holt recorded the first-ever playoff cycle in the ALDS against the Yankees but has just one other hit in 15 at-bats. All seven of his homers in the regular season came off right-handers. Holt will be a DFS sleeper in Game 3.
