J.D. Martinez Goes Hitless Again On Thursday
3 years agoBoston Red Sox designated hitter J.D. Martinez went 0-for-4 with two strikeouts in a 13-1 loss to the Blue Jays on Thursday. It was the second game in a row that Martinez was held hitless, as he has gone cold at the plate over his last seven games where he is slashing .120/.154/.200 with one RBI, one run scored and a 6:1 K:BB ratio. Despite the recent slump, Martinez has still had a great bounce-back season following a dismal 2020 campaign, as he's now slashing .293/.361/.546 with 20 homers, 65 RBI and 67 runs scored over 97 games. He'll look to snap this skid on Friday in the series opener with Tampa Bay.
