3 years agoBoston Red Sox outfielder J.D. Martinez (back) was scratched from the starting lineup for Sunday's game against the Seattle Mariners just moments before the game began. The veteran is reportedly dealing with back spasms. He was originally slated to play designated hitter in the game, but Christian Arroyo is now filling in as the team's designated hitter. The Red Sox are off on Monday, so Martinez will have some extra time to rest before the team opens up a three-game series against the Chicago White Sox on Tuesday.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
