J.D. Davis Not Expected To Return Before All-Star Break
4 years agoNew York Mets manager Luis Rojas said he doesn't "feel strongly" that third baseman J.D. Davis (finger) will be activated from the 60-day injured list before the All-Star break. The Mets are playing it safe here after they just got Jonathan Villar back from the injured list on Sunday. The 28-year-old Davis should be back right when the second half of the season starts, and he'll likely take valuable playing time away from Villar at the hot corner. Davis had just 41 at-bats before his injury, but he was scoring-hot, slashing .390/.479/.610 with two home runs, five runs scored and seven RBI. He won't stay that hot over the course of the rest of the year, but fantasy managers in need of some third base help should look to pick him up now if he's available on your waiver wire.
