J.D. Davis Acquired By Yankees
5 months agoThe New York Yankees acquired infielder J.D. Davis from the Oakland Athletics for infielder Jordan Groshans and cash considerations on Sunday afternoon. Davis was designated for assignment by the Athletics earlier this week and gives the Yankees some additional depth. The veteran has been relatively mediocre this season as he is slashing .236/.304/.366 with four homers, five RBI and 12 runs scored in 39 games. Landing in New York gives Davis a little more fantasy relevance as he figures to see some playing time with Giancarlo Stanton (hamstring) sidelined. Nevertheless, he is nothing more than a depth option in the deepest of mixed leagues for the time being.
