J.A. Happ Takes Third Loss Tuesday
3 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher J.A. Happ struggled en route to taking his third loss of the season Tuesday against the Seattle Mariners. Happ pitched four innings, allowing six runs, five earned, on nine hits while walking one batter. The southpaw struck out five batters and generated 15 whiffs on 84 pitches, 10 of them on fastballs. Happ had some of his best swing-and-miss stuff of the season, but the overall results were once again disappointing, as he has now surrendered four or more runs in six of his last seven outings. He'll take a 6.12 ERA and 1.44 WHIP into a tough matchup against the Cincinnati Reds on June 21. The Reds have been one of the best offenses in baseball, making Happ avoidable in any fantasy format.
