J.A. Happ Remains Undefeated With Yankees
6 years agoBeginning the last stretch of a nine-game road trip, the New York Yankees kicked off their three-game series against the Minnesota Twins with a win. On the mound was J.A. Happ, the veteran starter acquired before the trade deadline. Happ, who went six scoreless innings en route to his 16th win of the year, appears to be one of his club's best options to start the A.L. Wild Card game next month. Since arriving in the Bronx in late July, the 35-year-old has won six of his eight starts, earning no-decisions in his other two. At this point, Happ and Masahiro Tanaka appear the likeliest candidates for the dreaded Wild Card game, which the Yankees seemed destined for.
