J.A. Happ Records Seventh Victory
5 years agoNew York Yankees starter J.A. Happ recorded his seventh victory of the season Tuesday night as his club extended their divisional lead over the Rays to two and a half games. The 36-year-old went just five innings, but allowed only two runs and struck out three. He threw only 87 pitches and saw his offense score three runs in the fifth to take the lead for good. Happ has now gone eight consecutive outings without dropping a loss, having gone 5-0 during that stretch. That comes despite posting a 4.86 ERA during the stretch. His next start is scheduled for Sunday against the Houston Astros.
