J.A. Happ Joins Team On Tuesday
4 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher J.A. Happ has joined the team at camp on Tuesday. Happ cleared the COVID-19 protocols after testing positive for the virus about a week ago, though he was asymptomatic and able to stay in "pretty good throwing shape," per manager Rocco Baldelli. The team believes the veteran left-hander will be ready for the first week of the season, though they have also spoken about possibly going with a six-man rotation to start the year. Randy Dobnak, Lewis Thorpe and Devin Smeltzer are some possible candidates for spot starts. While the team will likely move slowly with Happ this spring, fantasy managers who take a late-round chance on him should ultimately expect him to be ready for the opening week.
