J.A. Happ Hit Hard In No-Decision
3 years agoMinnesota Twins starting pitcher J.A. Happ struggled in Thursday's win over his former team, the New York Yankees. Happ didn't factor into the decision, pitching five innings and allowing four runs on eight hits. He struck out two and walked one batter, throwing 101 pitches. Happ has had trouble keeping the bases clean, a theme that continued in Thursday's start, as he allowed eight-plus hits for the third time in his last four outings. The veteran lefty has pitched to a 5.75 ERA and 1.37 WHIP this season, along with a 5.26 expected ERA and some grim Statcast metrics. Despite a good matchup his next time out against the Seattle Mariners, Happ can't be trusted for fantasy purposes right now.
